BORED and aliens: an uncompromising commitment for over 50 years
During the extra-terrestrial cultural influx of the 1950s, many people were cautious and unsure of how to handle a new coexistence—socially, spiritually, and professionally. BORED saw an opportunity to tap into a burgeoning, eager workforce. Today, BORED employs over 143,000 aliens from 156 planets.
The BORED-alien alliance carries with it immense responsibility. As the 1970s ushered in a era of rampant alien exploitation, many aliens grew leery of humans and other Earth inhabitants. It was encumbent upon BORED to ensure the well-being of each and every alien in our growing ranks.
It was then that the BORED Alien Worker Protection Program was enacted to guarantee alien rights. Among them, the right to a reasonable work schedule (8 hours per day to exceed no more than 40 hours per week), the right to a safe workplace, and the right to a fair wage—a precedent set by BORED and followed by many companies to come. The wage ratio of 2 burgers per every one hour of work is a standard still in use today. Aliens love burgers.
Today, BORED can say unequivocally that unfair alien employment practices are universally banned within the reach of BORED and its myriad subsidiaries. No BORED sketchbook has come into your hands from those of an ill-treated alien. We whole-heartedly oppose the abuse of the rights of extra-terrestrials in work environments, wherever they may be. It's what we believe and it's the principle from which our motto "Aliens are kind of like people" came.
